I have several reccomendations for you today, the majority of which you have no doubt already read as classics, but some that are new. I actually had too many recs today and decided to hold a few back for another time. Well... on with the show!

I don't have a lot to recommend today, however, I woke up around six this morning and found myself immersed in an amazing Remus/Sirius fic that I wanted to share. I thought I would also include another recent Harry/Severus find.

Cream Rinse by Becka
Pairing: Remus/Sirius
Rating: PG-ish (however, in my opinion it goes up to R/NC-17)
Author’s Summary: Set in MWPP's fifth year, just before Christmas hols. Yes, this is a "how they got together" story. But it amuses me, and I hope that it will amuse you too.
My Summary: I enjoyed this one simply because of the desire that they show for each other. There is no unrequited love or drawn out seduction. There are two young men who realize what they mean to each other at about the same time. There is a complication, of course, in the form of the werewolf’s habit of mating for life, but that is overcome with a little caring and dedication. Very well done and so believable.


Nocturn by Tira Nog
Pairing: Harry/Snape
Rating: NC-17
Author’s Summary: Twelve years after the final battle claims his two best friends' lives, Auror Harry Potter meets his former potions teacher and learns a startling secret about Professor Snape.
My Summary: A beautiful view of a developing relationship and an original outtake on vampirism. I come to this fandom from BtVS and rarely read vampire fics outside of that fandom, but this one was simply beautiful and delightful in both Harry and Severus’ insecurities and desires. Every moment was lovely and I will read this one again.

I've spent a lot of the last month reading three beyond novel length stories by one particular author. I cannot say that the stories were good, but they were successful in dragging me into them and keeping me there. I will not be recommending any of these stories today, and I am refraining from mentioning the author as well, since she obviosuly puts a lot of work into the stories that she writes and takes pride in how they are presented.

It's been a while since I've been here, simply because I have become absolutely absorbed in Harry Potter fanfic. I've discovered that unlike with my BtVS OTP of Spike/Xander, I am a little more free with Harry and Draco. I've also branched out into fics with Sirius and Remus in them, though not always together. Today, I thought I would give you guys a few links to some wonderful artists as well as some excellent fiction. Here we go!

Here are three wonderful fics for you all. This is an eclectic little list this time and I hope you enjoy each of them. I have included a pairing here that has not be posted on this journal before, along with my old standby.

I just finished reading the most amazing piece of work. It's the longest HP piece that I have read at 79 chapters and 396,617 words. I keep typing a sentence here and deleting it, so I am going to type it once more and hope that it doesn't scare anyone off. There were grammatical errors in the piece that caught my eye, but they were few and far between, about the number that you would expect to go unseen in a piece of this length. In no way did they detract from the amazing storyline that the author created. I would recommend this to one and all.

Moment By Moment by Thwax
Pairing: Draco/Harry
Rating: NC-17
Author’s Summary: Voldemort and his followers have won the war. The Dark Lord rules Britain and those who oppose him are scattered, some in exile in the USA, and others underground in their own country. Harry Potter is one of those for whom America has become a home, that is until his nemesis is given a promise by those who represent authority for the exiled Britons. The promise will lead Harry into more than he could ever have expected.
My Summary: This is the first Voldemort wins story that I read. Actually, at the posting of this recommendation, it is the only Voldemort wins story that I have read. The psychological and physical pain that is poured out onto Harry is just incredible. Discovering what Draco was created for nearly broke my heart. The growth of all of the characters through this story drew me so deeply into it that I lost myself for quite a while. Definitely worth the read. Set aside plenty of time for it, as it is long.
